The do it yourself (DIY) car hire offers national car hire services which includes disabled access and self drive vehicles. DIY also outline that they have over 300 locations around Australia and can therefore negotiate the best deal to suit you. DIY work through Europecar, Thrifty, Budget and Avis.

Take a break web site provides information on accessible accommodation for people with disabilities throughout Australia. The web site provides costs, accommodation information and areas of interest within the surrounding region. The site also contains tourist information and links to other sites and the ability to undertake a quick search for a specific region.



Easy Access Australia

A guide book for people with disabilities. It is written by Bruce Cameron and provides information outlining transport options, accommodation options, tourist attractions and information on equipment repair / hire centres, hospitals, attendant care agencies and of course where the best and accessible restaurants are.

Airline concession

NICAN administers the Qantas Carer Concessin Card on behalf of Qantas. The Qantas Carer Concession Card is issued to people with a disability and high level support needs who require the full-time assistance of a carer whilst they are on the plane. A person eligible if they need to have a one-on-one support when seated on the place for assitance with meals/drinks, transferring to the bathroom, orientation, communicating with the flight staff etc. A Person would not be eligible if they only need assistance boarding the plane or when they arrive at their destination. Bookings for the cardholder and their nominated carer must be made at the same time and both bookings must be made using the Card in order to obtain the discount. The Qantas Booking Fee is not payable on bookings made using Qantas Carer Concession Card. Discounts are not available on international travel, on flights operated by any of Qantas' alliance partners, or in conjunction with any other concessional airfares eg. airfares for children and seniors.
